Inventory Security Deposit & Insurance Excess Deposit
THIS PAGE IS VERY IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ
Starline Narrowboats normally require an Inventory Security Deposit of £125 (Increased by £25 per pet or canoe taken on board)
The inventory security deposit is normally refunded less any cost of diesel unless there is any loss or damage to the inventory or the boat is returned in an unclean condition or after the stipulated return time.
Starline Narrowboats run a compulsory Insurance Excess Scheme as follows:
The Insurance Excess Deposit (IED) is a one-off payment of £22.50
The IED covers the Excess charged by our insurers in the event that you are involved in an accident requiring a claim to be made against our insurance. In this event the hirer is responsible for the Excess of £500. This one off charge indemnifies you the hirer against any subsequent excess cost resulting from any accident that you are involved in (subject to the Special Exclusions detailed below) requiring a claim on our insurers. Please note you will still be liable for Inventory loss or damage and those items covered by the Inventory Security Deposit as these items are not covered by our insurance.
Special Exclusions to Damage Waiver
Speeding (reported or witnessed). Malicious, negligent or intentional damage to the boat, its equipment, the waterway other boats or structures. Damage to rudder or skeg, due to cill damage in locks. Return of boat in an unclean condition.
In the case of the above being reported, we shall claim the full cost of repairs, replacement or compensation.
